Ohana

ohana means family, and i am every lucky for the beautiful little one i've got.  we celebrated living on the island for two years with a family photo session on the beach.  i specifically picked this location for the white coral covered beach and driftwood swing and it did not disappoint.  Ann Ferguson took the photos and honestly, i don't have a lot to say because i think they completely speak for themselves.  i have so many favorites.

i have to share the story of my dress here, because it still makes me smile as i look through our photographs.  i found the dress online but it was no longer available to order.  i thought it would be the perfect.  so, i posted a photograph on my instagram page and asked if anyone was planning on going to the store that could pick it up for me.  dozens of lovely ladies volunteered their precious time to go take a look for me.  i was on the phone for an hour with customer service trying to track down a store that actually carried it.  luckily, we found it in arizona and a lovely friend, who lived in the area, picked up the dress for and sent it here to the island.  such a kind gesture that i will always remember.

i feel like these photos came at such a perfect time for us.  this island is finally feeling like "home" to us, after two whole years.  we've settled into the pace and the beauty and feel so thankful to be here everyday...experiencing something we truly only once dreamed about.
