clover sunshine...part of the alison glass fabric tour

_DSC0173.jpg

as i mentioned back in august, i was asked to be part of the alison glass fabric tour, which introduces her latest fabric lines...and i am over the moon excited about the whimsical fabrics as well as the project i put together for it!!  knowing full well that i am not a great seamstress, as i have yet to try my hand at quilting or making any kind of clothing article, i knew right away that the fabric project i would make would include a big bottle of modge podge, a foam brush and sticky fingers. you might have seen some of my decoupage projects previously on the blog or on my instagram site....including dressers, a rocking chair and side tables.  this time around, i purchased a doll bed from IKEA and used that as my canvas.  i am thrilled with the end result and can't wait for my daughter to get her hands on it for her little animal friends and dolls.

the clover sunshine line offers so much vibrance and is just really happy!  the patterns are playful and colorful.  how can you resist a combination of bunnies, cupcakes and octopus (or maybe i should say octopi?) ? so much fun!!

not only did i create the bed, i decided to work on a couple of scrappy garlands (which a basic tutorial is included for at the end of this post).  they were simple, quick and easy and required no sewing what-so-ever.  i will be giving away the two garlands through the blog and instagram.  simply leave a comment here on the blog as to who you would gift a garland to and both you and that friend will have the chance to win!  if you want to participate on istagram, visit my profile here (or find me at ModernMaven) and leave a comment tagging a friend for you to both be entered.

string each tassel onto a ribbon, yarn or string.  that's it! so simple and fun and an excellent craft for little ones to help you with!
